The Branchal herd is steeped in history, being the only herd listed in Volume 1 of the herd book, still to be owned and run by the same family over 100 years later.

High Branchal now has over 200 registered black and white cows and followers,
as well as a large flock of 300 North Cheviot sheep.
These enterprises are run over 870 acres, just west of Glasgow in Scotland.
